Blast from the past (again)
How do you do that?
What?
Find, people.
Huh?
That thing, with people, always coming back into your life.
(I just laugh)
Finally Wonderwoman is settled back in her apartment, away from the smell of dettol and flourescent lights and latex socks with holes at the ball of the foot. We're bored. After a lame episode of CSI (they're ALL lame), her friend suggests a new show called Heroes. About these 'ordinary' people who discover they have superpowers. The small-screen version of X-men. We're sitting there, watching, snacking on cheese and bread and Malbec wine when this thin Indian guy appears. His character is the son of a geneticist, but I only remember him brandishing a decorative elephant at a guy pretending to be an exterminator. Where have I seen this guy? He looks oddly familiar. But what's with the British Indian accent? I google 'Mohinder Suresh Heroes'. A huge grin forms and I start laughing in disbelief. It's Sendhil! But let's double check. Yes, the last name sounds right. And what is this, he grew up in San Antonio, TX. Synchronicity abounds. This guy was a senior at my school (check, a TINY school) when I was 10 (or thereabouts).
Each Valentine's day, the juniors organised delivery of flowers, baloons and the dreaded/beloved kiss-o-gram to raise funds for prom. The designated kiss-engers were various juniors and seniors, obviously the more attractive ones. Me and one other girl, the brownies of the class, spent Valentine's day trying to get people to send us kiss-o-grams through him. Possibly my first crush. Hilarious.
